Dear Diary,

Today my husband is safe and has lived, but when the sun rises tommorrow it will be a new day filled with a ton of new changes and obstacles I pray my dear husband can overcome without pain. My husband came home tonight weak and tired, for he has been marching all day. I begged him to let me come and take place in the march today , but he said it would be much to far for me. He told me I should stay home and work here and rest from the long march I was still trying to overcome from last week. My husband was not the main leader in the march today, but he felt like he should take part in it. He told me it was very sucessful in our race for racial equality.

Dear Diary,

Today Martin and I went down to the SCLC to see how it was doing. It was running very smoothly and it seems it has become a very great sucess. It is very interesting to see Martin interact with all of the Christian people since he grew up on such and environment. I belive that we are both very happy that we started this orginization.

Dear Diary,

Tonight I helped martin talk to all of the people in the church. It seems that eveyone is participating greatly in this bus boycott. The nightly meetings martin speeks at at night have very very very good turnouts. The meeting seem to bring up everyones spirits for the next day filled with many many many miles of walking and boycotting of the montgomery buses. we have curently been voycotting the Montgomrey Alabama buses for 279 days exactly and everything seems to be running smoothly. I am surprised at how many people are participating in it. Every black in the city seems to be participating in this event. I think it must be because all of us have been unjustly treated on the segregated buses.

Dear Diary,

Today a bombin g occured at a montgomery church. Martin was their and said that the worst part was seeing all of the young children come out of the church dead. He said they all reminded him of his own children and that saddness was thrust upon him. He also said that it was devistating to see the hopeful faces of perents hoping teir kids are safe get crushed with defistation. The only hope he saw was that people everywhere would now see the effects that its causing and how innocent little children are dying for no reason except their skin and how it is a different color than the white peoples skin.

Dear Diary,

Today me and my husband are going to Washington D.C. Martin is planning on giving a speech there at The Lincoln Memorial. He is very very very nervous. He is planning on calling his speech, "I Have a Dream" He is scared that he will get hurt or killed, but he told me that as long as he helps the cause of racial equality for African Americans than it is worth any amount of pain thrust upon him by anyone. I prey that he will be safe, but I know all that he wants to do is give everyone the rights that they deserve. I hope that his speech is a great sucess.

Dear Diary,

Today Martin gave his speech. There was an amazing turnout! The power of his speech overwhelmed me. The words were so graceful and elegant. I truely believe that there was not a fry eye in the entire crowd. I know that nobody eye saw had dry eyes and certantly not me. My favorite line he said was the repetitive line of "I Have a Dream." I think that this was my favorite because every African American has the dream of racial equality, but every human being on this planet has a dream of his or her own. I hope and tuely believe that his words he spoke today will be remembered for a long long time.

Dear Diary,

Today Martin is dead. He was shot on the balcony of his hotel. The nerve of some of these white people. killing people just because of their color, and how they want everyone to be treated equaly. I have known before what I now no in a personal way that the fight for racial equality is not a never will be a peaceful thing, but I prey that someday the fight will be over and everyone will be treated as equals. We have decided on an open casket funeral because we want the world to see one last time the remarkable man that is my husband. We want to let the world see one last time the man that has led so many marches, boycotts, said speeches that will hopefully last a long time, and for everyone to see the man who gave up his life just to try to give African Americas the rights that they deserve. the thing that bothers me the most is that they cannot find the man who killed Martin. Why i prey day in and day out that Martin killer will be found. I will not be able to bare it if someone does not get punished for the death of my great husband. I will try to get some rest tonight for tommorow I must wake up and live anouther day without my husband.

Dear Diary,

It has been about a year since I have written. It has been to hard for me, but now I must say that the man who killed Martin has been found. He was charged guilty today. He has been scentenced to 99 years in jail. I am so happy that I can finally sleep at night knowing that the man who killed Martin is punished for his actions. I hope that this is a reminder to all that everyone is equal and has the same rights as everyone else. For now i believe that Martins dreams are close to happening an that he did die with everyone knowing he had truely helped the cause of racial equality for all African Americans.
