Interviw

Peter- and Michael-

Hello my faithful listeners, I know that you're all here to listen to me not that sports guy, no offense Peter. Today I'm here with the one the only... ALPHONSUS "SCARFACE" CAPONE. Can I call you Al for now?

So Al When did you first get involved with crime? Well there buddy, I first joined the James Street Gang under the leadership of Johnny Torrio sometime between 1910 and 1920.

How did you get the nicknme "Scarface"? Ii first got it because there was a female patron that I insulted and I was insulted later by her brother 3 times in the cheek. That sounds preety rough.

Have you ever thought that you would go to Alcatraz? That was always a possibilty if I ever get caught, but luckfully I mean skillfully never do get caught.

Do you think you will die there if you do go to Alcatraz?

No. Even if I do go I will probably escape or not be sentenced long enough to die there. Plus, I'm Al who could hate me?A lot of people, don't be stupid. What did you say to me?

Nothing, please don't hurt me

Sports

Peter

Well Joey, a lot happened in this here past ten years. In 1920, William "Big Bill" Tatem Tilden the second is the first American to bring the Wimbledon title home to the US of A. In 1922, Ralph Samuelson invented waterskiing. In 1926, 19-year-old Gertrude Ederle made history by being the first woman to swim the English Channel. She also broke the world record time across the Channel. George "The Babe" or "Sultan of Swat" Ruth shattered the home run record twice, most recently in 1927 with 60 homers. Also in ’27, Abe Saperstein formed the famous Harlem Globetrotters, with recruits from mostly Chicago’s’ South Side. Back to you, Bill.

Wheaties Commercial

Peter

-all four of us-Have YOU tried Wheaties? -Peter-Wheaties are made from one hundred percent pure wheat. You can feel that delicious crunch in your mouth when you eat them. Let’s see what Jack Armstrong, the all American boy thinks of them: ”Gee wilickers mister! These things are great!”

National News

Griffin

Alot has happened in the last 10 years. From "Lucky Lindy" flying across the Atlantic to Prohibition to the Stock Market Crash, this has been an exiting decade. In the Monkey Trial, John Scopes was charged with teaching the theory of evolution. The most powerful liberal layer, Clarence Darrow, joined the defence. Amelia Eirhart was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic. She reminded us of Charles Lindbergh, A.K.A Lucky Lindy, so she was coined "Lady Lindy". We Americans also became obsessed with jazz. The last important news AL CAPONE IS STILL ON THE LOOSE!

Political Report-Virginia

The president, Warren G. Harding, died on August 2, 1923 of maybe a heart attack or a stroke at the San Francisco Hotel in California after a trip from Alaska.

Calvin Coolidge took over for Harding. Calvin only had one year in the president’s seat. After that Coolidge ran again in the 1924 election. Coolidge won with over half the votes. Coolidge 54 percent, John W. Davis had 29 percent, and Robert La Follette had 17 percent.

After Coolidge won he became the 30th president of the United States. Warren G. Harding was the 29th president of the United States.

And who could forget the Teapot Dome Scandal…it was all of the news and the papers. The Teapot Dome Scandal was when various members of Harding’s administration had stolen money intended for veterans’ hospital, mishandled government property, and accepted bribes. Neither Harding nor Coolidge where involved in this scandal.
