Hello. I am telling you a story about my father... Martin Luther King Jr. He served at the Ebenezer Baptist Church from 1914-1931. After three years of theological study at Crozer Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania, he was awarded the B.D. in 1951. I am proud to say that my father was a member of the NAACP.

After the Montgomery Bus Boycott father was arrested right when segregation on buses was ruled unconstitutional, and his house was bombed. At the same time, he emerged as a Negro leader of the first rank. In 1957, my father was elected the President of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference.

My father, Martin, traveled over six million miles and spoke over 2,500 times. He appeared wherever there was injustice, protest, and action. My father wrote five books, and numerous articles. He led a big protest in Birmingham, Alabama. His inspiring "Letter from Birmigham Jail" and his moving address "I Have a Dream" are some of the things he is famous for.

My father is the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize, at the age of 35. He donated the money to the Civil Rights Movement.

On the evening of April 4, 1968, my father was standing on the balcony of his hotel room in Memphis, Tennessee. He was about to lead a protest march in sympathy with striking garbage workers of that city, it happened. He was assasinated.

I am proud to call him... my father.
