Where?

At Ford's Theater in Washington D.C.

Why?

John W. Booth and others thought that if they killed Lincon, Jackson, and Steward, the three most powerful men in the government, the South could regain its strength and come back to defeat the Union. But, the South could not, even by a mircale, come back into a war in its present state because it was very poor, had very few living citizens, and the land was destroyed.-William
