John Wikes Booth was born on May 10 1838 and was an actor who performed all around the country.  In the late summer of 1864, Booth planned to kidnap him.  In 1865, He gathered up a group of CO- Conspirators including Samuel Arnold, Micheas O'Laughlen, John Surratt, George Atzerodt, and David Herold.  Both set orders for Atzerodt to kill Vice President Andrew Jackson, and Powell was to kill Secretary of State William Seward.  John left Lincoln for him self to deal with.  Powell stabbed Seward, but he still survived.  Atzerodt made no attempt to kill Johnson.  But Booth made it up to the Presidental box and shot lincoln in the back of his head with a Deringer.  Booth jumped down on to the stage infront of over one thousand people.  He escaped through the Navy yard bridge.  President lincoln was left lying on his death bed for approximatly nine hours, untill he died this morning at about 7:22.  Booth has not yet been found.(Connor)
